4/22 Interview with Suzy: Today I had the pleasure of talking to Suzy in a joint interview with Emmy. We had such a wonderful conversation, branching from our individual passions and their similarities to how much we love thrifting. Suzy also gave us some awesome advice about being confident when we asked her for advice for our first encounter with Mock Trial. I can't wait to get to have more conversations with her. Oh, and also we both love dying our hair colorful!

4/23 Interview with Megan: This afternoon, I had such an amazing conversation with Megan. We began to discuss our unknown career plans, the differences between Political Science classes and Public Affairs classes at UCLA, and just school in general. Our conversation shifted to one regarding all the drama that happens in apartment living, and the difference between dorms and off-campus housing. I also told her how I went to an all-girls school and explained to her how reluctant I was but how I ended up loving it. We're both from the bay, which is super fun. What I treasured most from our conversation was that we have such a similar mindset on life: one day can change so much, let alone 4 years. We discussed how everything is interconnected, and we should aim to have only productive wastes of time so that we are truly benefiting from and caring about ourselves! She talked to me about how cool geography is, and we bonded over how cool it is to study the brain. We ended the convo discussing everything that's happening with the pledge process right now, and I am glad to have her and the actives' support.

4/24 Interview with Ira: I had a wonderful conversation with Ira this evening. We began having some fun, random conversation about nails, birthdays, how she plays piano, and how I love art! I showed her some of my art pieces, which was really fun. We also talked about the exhaustion that has come with COVID. We had an interesting conversation about books, movies, and then QAnon, which was funny. As well as this we had an amazing conversation about the pledge process, our school experiences, and our different outlooks.

4/26 Interview w/ Ria: This morning, I had a great conversation with Ria that began with talking about the balance between the pledge process and midterms and everything else. We also talked about how necessary it is to have a positive mindset in terms of the whole process, and how grateful she was/I am for the skills we've learned. I also then asked her about mock trial because I've seen and heard how she is literally the most amazing at it! She gave me so great advice on how to approach the case we are doing. The second half of our conversation was just about a bunch of random stuff, from the differences between Oregon, where she is from, and LA. We also had really passionate conversation about the show Never How I Ever and how it could've been made so much better than it was.

4/26 Interview w/ Hannah: My interview with Hannah was so much fun, she is truly so kind. I told her about all the problems I am dealing with right now and she gave me some really awesome advice and we just got to talk about things in a way that flowed really easily. We also talked about how we both really love people watching, which made me really happy. She's an anthropology major and one of my majors is psychology, so we both love learning how people think and live. We also talked a bit about the pledge process, similar to the conversation I had with Ria earlier! She also recommended that I watch Schitt's Creek because we both really like New Girl!

4/27 Interview w/ Amy: This morning at 12, I had an interview with Amy. She's my big's (Chloe's) big, so she's my grand big! Super fun. When I set up the meeting, I was so excited because of this. She is genuinely so sweet and I got to open up to her a bit about what I have been going through lately, which felt very comfortable. After talking for a bit, she actually came and dropped me my pledge pin at my apartment, so around 12:45 I ran down to get it! I'll finally be wearing it to tonight's meeting. Overall, my interview with Amy went really well, and it was nice to see her in person, even if it was just for a second.

4/27 Interview w/ Maxine: I just had a very fun interview with Maxine! Our conversation began with us talking about the classes we are taking and midterms, and we also talked a lot about the cognitive science/psychology department because we both have one of those majors. I also told her how much I love Public Affairs, because she was wondering about the program! As well as this, she told me how she wants to possibly for Teach for America after she graduates, and how Caitlin is doing Americore. So cool! We also had funny conversations about butter and also talked about how we both love art. We ended our conversation by talking about the pledge process and missions, and she recommended my roommates and I have a Bob Ross paint night.

4/30 Interview with Carter: I had a really fun interview with Carter yesterday morning. I told him all about the hectic stuff that has been going on in my life, and then we just started talking about all kinds of food because he was cooking pasta. We both love Mexican food. We also talked all about the pledge process and I told him about how I am really trying to have a positive mindset. As well as this, we talked about his work at the DA's office in the mental health division, which led us into quite the amazing conversation about psychology.

5/1 Interview with Ishan: This afternoon, I had my interview with Ishan and our conversation started off talking all about tattoos. We then switched the conversation to where we are both from, the Bay Area and Florida. He told me a lot about his legal work in Florida and a lot of what he learned in his internships, and it's super exciting because we are both into both humanitarian work as well as criminal law. We also talked about how we both love going to art museums and learning about the art. His mom is an artist, so cool! Excited to speak more with him and get to know him better.

5/3 Interview w/ Ranhita: I just finished a wonderful interview with Ranhita, and it was a joint interview with Nathan and Alexis, as well. We talked about our home towns and what we are up to, and Ranhita told us all about her experiences in Texas as well as all the countries she has lived in, like Malta! Such a pretty place, I have been there once too and hearing her talk about living there was really exciting. We got to say hi to her dog Scooter, and also talked about her experience on UCLA cheer. All in all, great talk and I hope to speak with her more.

5/3 Interview with Naomi: I just finished quite the insightful interview with Naomi. I told her about what's been going on with me, and she just finished a bunch of midterms. We talked about her IDS major and the interdisciplinary nature of her classes. We both agreed how important it is to focus on a bunch of things because everything is so interconnected. We connected on the fact that we are both really interested in law, and I told her about my interests in criminal justice. She told me all about her experiences working in criminal justice research at Luskin, and that was really so exciting. I hope to do that in the future. We ended our discussion by talking about the pledge process, and I am super excited to get to know Naomi more.

5/4 Interview with Mira: I just had a really wonderful conversation with Mira. We talked about life, and how stressful everything can be, but also how it's so necessary to keep a positive mindset. That's what I really admire about Mira, is that she always has a smile and knows what to say. We also talked about how bad COVID is in India, and how many people close to us are being affected. Primarily, we talked about the pledge process as well as how important and amazing it is to be close to your p-bros and how fun it is to do interviews.

5/4 Interview with Taylor: Taylor and I just concluded quite a fun conversation. I told her all about how I was feeling about the pledge process so far, and sadly also learned that she is dealing with strep throat right now! Not fun. As well as this, we spoke about our music taste and we actually have a lot of similar interests in artists, like Vulfpeck and the Beach Boys! I am really excited to get to know Taylor more, especially because of the fact that she is also really into crystals, like me.

5/4 Interview with Sophie: Hello! I just finished my last interview for this quota, with Sophie and Vidya in a joint interview. Sophie showed us some of her cool art projects, like this sweater she just knitted that was colorblocked with all these amazing designs and her embroidered backpack! We also had a great conversation about our similar passions in education, and I learned a lot more about Vidya, too, and all our similarities. We talked about midterms, and the pledge process too, and just how we need to keep a positive mindset.
