4/24 Interview with Michael Keily:
I had such a great conversation with Michael. I found that we both relate to one another on politics which we spent a good amount of time talking about. He showed me a book on communism he owns, while I was able to show him a matching flag on my wall which was funny. We also had a very productive and insightful conversation about the dilemna in seeking out a profession that doesn't contribute to harmful systems in this country. This allowed me to learn that he used to think he was pre-law, but now is thinking of working under non-profit organizations. He was able to help me a lot in thinking about my future career and gave great advice on potentially switching majors. Additionally, he was very reassuring regarding the pledge process and I loved hearing about his experiences in his own pledge class. I was also able to learn about his position as treasurer.

4/25 Interview with Ricky:
I was able to get to know Ricky a lot better after speaking with him. It was interesting to hear from what he was allowed to talk about with crossing into Lambda and comparing that to his pledge process for Kappa Alpha Pi. I was also able to learn a lot more about his background and all of the places he lived in. We talked about what we plan to do for housing next year and how we both enjoyed watching cartoons and Disney channel when we were younger. This led to our conversation about Asian representation in film where we talked about the new Mulan movie, Crazy Rich Asians, and the new upcoming Marvel movie Shang Chi. I brought up a Disney Pixar short film called Bao that I especially like and told him the story of when I first saw it. Overall, I really enjoyed our conversation and hope to get to talk to him more!

4/26 Interview with Naomi:
Speaking with Naomi was great! I initially was going to ask her about her position as Co-Historian since I am the Historian in my pledge class, but was able to find out that this is not her actual position within Kappa Alpha Pi. Regardless, she was able to provide me lots of really good advice on getting through the pledge process and I loved getting to hear about her own process when everything was in person. It was funny to hear about some of the things people got aftermaths for. We talked about running Instagram accounts and De Neve food too. It was also nice to hear about how my big, Matthew, was her twin. She was really friendly and I'd love to speak with her more!

4/26 Interview with Aneri:
Aneri was a really attentive listener and very kind! We had a really great conversation about what life is like in the dorms, which led to us speaking about college friendships and the different kinds of people we have met. I was able to tell her about all of the dorm drama that has happened and it was funny that we both have had experiences of not liking a friend's boyfriend. I also really enjoyed hearing about her own friendship experiences and time in the dorms when she was a first year. Furthermore, learning about her pledging process in person was really interesting since it sounds pretty different and I loved hearing about their nickname for their pledge master. I hope to speak with her more in the future!

4/26 Interview with Iris:
Iris was really fun to talk to and I was glad I was able to relate to someone who lives in my area. It was funny to find that we know some of the same people from back home and that she used to interact with David Dobrick in the past when she was younger since he's from her town. We talked a lot about some of the different famous people we've seen on campus or near it and I had a great time telling her the story of how I saw a bunch of Tik Tok guys in one day and secretly interacted with their manager. We also learned that we both share sentiments that Saddle Ranch and Nobu are a little overrated. I also loved hearing about her memories from when she was pledging and how they would have to call the actives by their last names. I loved getting to know her and hopefully I'll get to speak with her more!

4/26 Interview with Ranhita:
Ranhita was really funny and I loved getting to speak with her. I learned that she just came back from a trip to Cabo with her boyfriend. Her vacation sounded like a lot of fun since she mentioned going to the pool a lot and not having to worry about her classes for a little. It was also really nice to hear about her pledge class's mock trial case and the process they went through before it was time to present. I was able to share with her how far the Alpha Xi class is in preparing for our upcoming mock trial. She was able to give me a lot of really insightful advice on performing a case and I loved hearing that she was going to get In-n-Out. Overall, she was great and I would love to speak with her more!

4/27 Interview with Mira:
I had a really good interview with Mira and was able to learn a lot more about who she is. I had a lot of fun telling her all about how dorm life has been and all of the people I've been able to meet. We also talked about the differences in the West Coast compared to the East Coast and which vibe we felt like we matched more. I was able to hear a lot about how strong her friendships are with not only pledge brothers, but other active members a well. It was also really interesting to hear about her experience with the rush interview when it was in person and her pledge class doing a pyramid. I was also able to talk to her about how rush went for me and received a lot of support from her on getting through the process and through her position as Historian on the Junior Board. I loved getting to speak with her and I felt like we got along very easily!

4/30 Interview with Jennifer:
Speaking with Jennifer was really insightful and I feel like I know her a lot better compared to speaking with her during rush week. I really liked talking to her about her experience in living with someone else in the dorms and all of her advice on my housing dilemma for next year with one of my friends. It was fun to explain the full story and hear someone's reaction to it. She also gave me some of the best advice about pledging and I feel like I can go through it wiser now and will be more cognizant of many things. A lot of her recounts were really funny. It was also nice to speak to someone who is Korean as well since we talked about the struggle in not being fluent and different kinds of cultural differences. I hope I get to speak with her more!

5/3 Interview with Adrian:
I have to say that I had a very interesting and funny interview with Adrian. He was very easy to talk to and even asked me questions about myself as well. I had a fun time speaking with him about our mutual love for Marvel movies/shows and D.C. content that we like (which reminded me to start watching some of the shows). We also spoke about a lot of other things like my pledge process, campus food, and his high school experience to name a few. I was quite surprised to find that he was in an all male book club that read romance books but was glad to hear that he enjoys rom coms and anime too (I'll think about starting One Piece). It was entertaining when he was able to show me a video from a Stalin project he did in high school and I was able to talk about the Alpha Xi Instagram account. Overall, I feel like I got to know him a lot better!

5/4 Interview with Sophie:
Speaking with Sophie was super relaxed and a really nice experience. I did my interview with Aya and it was funny to joke around that Matthew makes people switch from Political Science to Public Affairs which was brought up because both Aya and I are thinkin of doing the same. We spoke a bit about our majors and also what we are involved with on campus. It was great to be able to talk about my big/little relationship and hear about Sophie's twin(s), in addition to their mock trial experience. After that, we also talked about how are midterms went and I liked how she was very supportive and ready to give advice. It was also really interesting to hear about how she is studying multiple languages and how she has a boyfriend who lives in Germany. I hope to be able to speak with her more!

5/4 Interview with Megan:
Interviewing Megan was a lot of fun since I feel like we got along really well and have a lot in common. We got to talk about the class that we're both in, which is Political Science 30 (the game theory one) and it was unsurprising to hear that she did well on the midterm since we are in the same discussion too with Hanna and I honestly think she might know more than our T.A. which is funny. It was also really nice to talk about Matthew since he's her adopted big and my big. I got to learn a little about her pledge process and the FOMO she felt since she's at home in the Bay area. We spoke about how my pledge process is going and had a really interesting conversation towards the end about how she tends to notice coincidences, to which I was reminded of how I'll sometimes have random deja vu moments and the kinds of dreams that we have. I hope I can get to know her even more in the future!

5/4 Interview with Caitlin:
Caitlin was great to interview and I feel like I got to know who she is a lot better. We were able to relate to one another over our love for bagels since they're one of my favorite foods. She told me how she actually compared all of the Alpha Nu class to their own types of bagels which I thought was really cute. I got to learn a lot about what the process of being in charge of the Alpha Nu pledge class with Luis was like for her and how she became the AVPR. We also talked more about bagels and how she would steal a lot from the dining hall by stuffing them into her bags which I thought was funny. I also learned about what she is going to be doing during her gap year in Boston and got to see that she owns a copy of the Communist Manifesto which made a feature in our interview screenshot. I really liked speaking with her!

5/4 Interview with Akunnia:
Let's just say, Akunnia and I get along really well and I feel like we have the same sense of humor. She was so funny during our interview and I had a ton of fun during the entire thing. I liked getting to hear about her pledge class dynamic and little tidbits from her own pledging process. She was also able to tell me a little bit about how nice the dynamic is within the fraternity. Because of that, I feel like I was able to learn more about how close everyone is with each other and it makes me excited for if/when I am able to cross. I'm also living for her hilarious stories and loved getting to tell her about some funny moments from my own pledging process. I always appreciate a fellow Barb and anime watcher, so I hope I get to talk to her more soon!

5/4 Interview with Taylor:
Speaking with Taylor was so calming and I felt like we had a really entertaining and productive conversation. I loved getting to talk with someone who is also super into astrology and we talked about our big three signs and I was so excited to learn that we both have water sign moons. Since she's also in the dorms like me, we talked about the food here and how the Korean food is good but always seems to be a bit off. I feel like we're really similar in our perspectives and feelings towards romantic relationships and marriage in general which we talked about for a good portion of the interview. It was nice to be able to explain my thoughts on that topic and we shared some funny and interesting stories about our male moments. We also talked about our moms and what they lecture us about regarding college. I hope I get to speak with her more in the future!
